Pharmaceutical Technology/ Department of Pharmaceutics |
|
The Pharmaceutics is one of lucrative and premium academic Branch of the any Pharmacy College, subscribes the missions of production and formulation of medicines, research, and community service. The department has good facilities for undergoing has many research activities with other research centers in near by regional cities. The department has a well equipped Industrial pharmacy section which allowed for offering services for research at any level of students in different areas. Mini scale model of industrial pharmacy has been established in the intention of developing and strengthen the research in pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical technology including drug formulation, manufacturing and biotechnology. Department of Pharmaceutics is well developed, controlled and regulated by experienced faculty. |

Pharmacology |
|
Pharmacology is the branch dealing with the therapeutic effects of drug and toxicology studies on living system. To ensure the optimal therapeutic activity of drugs on human beings, a pharmacologist seeks to describe and qualify the desirable and undesirable effects on laboratory animals. The Pharmacology laboratory is well set with latest and traditional instruments mentioned not to meet requirement but also to give maximum learning opportunity to students in relevant areas. The animal house and facilities are available as per the guidelines framed by CPCSEA for PG level Research work. The Pharmacology Laboratory is well equipped with instruments like eddy’s hot plate, plethismometer, electroconvulsometer, cook’s pole climbing apparatus, photoactometer, Rota Rod Apparatus etc.
At B.Pharm level the students are trained to handle all the instruments while doing practical on experimental animals.

Pharmacognosy |
|
Pharmacognosy is the study of botany, taxonomy, ethnobiology and the chemistry- biochemistry of natural products from plant, marine and other life origin. It is an important subject of over all curricula of Pharmacy programme. Medicinal preparations derived from plant and natural source especially from plant have been in widespread use since time immemorial. In fact, plants remain the main source of medicines for large group of the world’s population with time to time despite the advent of the volcanic explosion in discovery of new medicines in early Twentieth century. Over the years, however, synthetic molecules have been plagued by unwanted effects and toxicities with major cost-effective health related problems. Emergence of new disease, proliferative conditions of already established disease, multi drug resistance in pathogenic microorganism have renewed and boost up interest in drug discovery from plants. Study and research in Pharmacognosy is important because it leads to new forms of therapeutic agents; new molecular probes that can be used to study at molecular or cellular level; innovative in field of harvesting, increased understanding of ecological and biochemical role of molecules produced in nature; information on ancient and traditional system and herbal medicine; method for the analysis and standardization of active constituents obtained from nature, its preparation and other products. Pharmacognosy has undergone significant change in recent years. Today represents a highly interdisciplinary science which is one of the most of major area of pharmaceutical education and research.
Faculty work in department with the main goal, mission and vision:
- To enhance the standing of the college in the pharmaceutical technology.
- To offer service in basic, applied and advanced research in pharmaceutical technology including formulating and development.
- Acquaint student about the GLC and cGMP.
- To found a research environment attracting researchers and undergraduate student in Pharmaceutics.
- To enhance the research in plant & herbal medicine and standardization of Ayurvedic formulations.
- To develop newer techniques for analysis of different allopathic and Ayurvedic formulations.
- To study pharmacology and toxicology of different formulations.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry |
|
Pharmaceutical chemistry is the branch related with the chemistry of medicines, synthesis of new molecules and related analysis of the bulk drug and formulations.
Pharmaceutical chemistry department is a part of a cooperative coordinated effort throughout the faculty to fully prepare each student for new innovative for not only for medicinal synthesis but also for analytical aspects.
The Pharmachemistry laboratories are unique in its ability to fully integrate research and education. It consists of facilities for synthesis and sophisticated instrumentation for analysis of molecules and final formulations: such as Ultraviolet Spectrophotometer, High Performance Liquid Chropmatography (HPLC), furrier Transfer infra red spectroscopy (FT IR), etc. We are trying to fulfill all requirements of instruments for research and development of the formulations
Our faculties envision our students becoming skilled and competent in all topics covered including, inorganic, physical, organic, medicinal and analytical chemistry as well as instrumental analysis and quality control, in addition to essential subjects of medicinal chemistry, drug design, and its applications.
